Just figured I'd put my two cents in here because I'm having the exact same problem, except I don't always get a window that opens with no loot. Hope this can be fixed, I'm locked out of doing a lot of Redridge quests.
This appears to have been broken recently, I did Redridge a couple of months ago (Eastern Kingdoms loremaster achievement is completed) without any problems.
Confirmed for me, Could not pick up the quest item yesterday and still can not today. So far for the 3 items, I have only been able to pick up 1
same for me and my friend, created a task a few days ago too
Indeed, quest is broken. "Maps" at Three Corners and bottom cannot be looted

Same here, meaning entire quest chain can't be done. Over 10k rep to Stormwind blocked by that drop not appearing.
