For some reason when i try to do the achievement exactly how it says it doesnt complete, i have tried several times and still got nothing.

You were doing it wrong, Kriess. Although it would be nice to know how exactly you were trying to do the achievement, Feiosa, the way this comment describes it, or using some other method. I know for a fact that insta-killing currently does not work.
work just litle dps and wait for image magic when kill 3x mage
