as anduin, no pet can attack it.

Its, quite similar as the problem Valanar haves on that one northrend quest (Last Rites id=12019) and a few others scattered cases(there was one npc on uldum (dont remember the name right now, but it was black), for example, with problems quite similar)

and yes, as you say, at least it does allows you to -personally- damage it (npc=56441/shade-of-ling-heartfist slain, 1 of the 2 requirements complete)

Even if not-the-same-thing, maybe theres a possibility to make the quest item( =79875/song-of-the-vale) looteable from the npc¿? (even if, still, i would prefer it working as how it should

OKAY SO i have been trying a lot of things these days and I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE IT ON A PRIEST, the problem seems to be a phasing problem too. To recap all the problems

• anduin doesnt follow the player

-at first try he stopped on the last part of the cave
-on second (with another character) he didnt even followed me

• since anduin doesnt follow the player, theres no dialog to happen
  
• the container, scroll with the poem, cant be seen on the wall

-the item its here, the problem its that its in a different phase

Ill make another comment to attach some screenshots (quite, very, bad tacken, but none of us (me and a paladin) was thinking it was going to -somehow- work our tries

ITS ALL OUT OF ORDER. in order its

• 1 the quest is not in the log but the character can see the quest item after defeating the quest npc after engaging it WITH the quest and LEAVING IT while dpsing it with DOTS and killing it OUT THE QUEST

• 2 without having the quest, the item to loot its here to see, the character cant belive hes seeing it after all. Its preocupied if he grabs the quest, it will dissapear again

• 3 while that happens, the other teamember stops being able to see his companion, since they change phases in the same zone

• 4 the priest went to grab the quest and came to the cave again to see if he phases out, and to his surprise, he doesnt, and the item can be looted

• 5 both draeneis talk about the quest item, a big scrool that for the paladin isnt displayed where it should

• 6 teamate tries to give instructions of what he did, and the paladin follows them

• 7 the instructions arent working, since when abandoning the quest the shadow phases out. The only thing the priest can see of the fight its a consecration on the floor

• 8 the priest tells the paladin that he was able to see the consecration but the screenshot its very bad

• 9 lolii comes to the cave and its asked for information, nothing said helps but its reliving having someone to answer at least

• 10 lolii says that before leaving

the most supprising thing out all of what happened to me today with this quest wasnt the fact that my friend failed miserably on trying to replicate what i did on spite

BUT
that theres people doing it seemingly without problems

and that even that, yet theres NO INFO here on the bugtracker about that issue
aaand, how is this not taken as serious as it should?, but it shoulds! i mean, you need that quest to keep doing the storyline and the achievements

OKAY i will finally tell whoever needs to know how to do this

1 - after completing the other ones, grab this quest with peace of mind
2 - gently enter the cave and kill Shade of Ling Heartfist npc=56441
3 - dont ever abandon the quest. But relog, my brother did it out the cave and quite away the zone, but i guess it would work also inside the cave, as long u relog
4 - now u will be unable to see the shadow anymore
5 - and! will be able to see and interact with the scroll!
6 - loot Song of the Vale item=79875
7 - done

special thanks to Dwah, told me to relog and such again like some others but this time my brother did it after killing the shadow and all the things ive written here

I doubt other people had that much problem as we, but here it goes

210122 seems to be working fine without need to doing nothing (not relog even once, nothing)
